2025 in Review

As 2025 comes to a close, we are taking a moment to reflect on what has been a remarkable year for WH Silverbacks. From iconic sporting events to forward thinking corporate summits, this year has seen us grow, collaborate with some incredible teams and clients, and deliver a wide range of structures for some truly exceptional events.

Being part of such a broad and diverse range of projects has strengthened our reputation as the go-to choice for temporary event structures; no matter the size, complexity, or location. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights of 2025 and (some!) of our proudest moments.

London Marathon: A Prestigious Event

This marked our second year providing bespoke hospitality structures for the London Marathon’s finish line on The Mall. There’s something special about being part of a legacy event that brings together thousands of people from across the globe and it’s a true celebration of unity and perseverance.

With tight deadlines and complex coordination required to deliver our structure in one of London’s most historic and iconic locations, teamwork was key. Our crew worked alongside other teams to deliver a polished result. It’s projects like these that remind us how important collaboration is in creating memorable event experiences, and we couldn’t be prouder to be a part of this one.

Wimbledon Qualifiers: Setting the Stage for Rising Stars

The Wimbledon Qualifiers is one of our favourite, best of British, events; it’s where the future stars of tennis battle it out for their place on the world stage. For the public, it’s a chance to experience a slice of Wimbledon at an accessible price and one reason why its popularity keeps growing each year.

We helped support this growth by providing a variety of stretch tents for key areas, including the guest village, players’ facilities, and back of house operations for staff and ball kids. Seeing how the event has developed over the years has been exciting, and we’re proud to play a role in enhancing its infrastructure. It really did look amazing.

The Open: A Major Milestone in Our Journey

The Open takes us to some stunning settings across the UK, and this year we had the pleasure of working in Northern Ireland. This was more than just another job for WH Silverbacks, it was an important milestone. Our work with the R&A involved delivering a premium stretch structure for ticket holders, marking the first time we partnered directly with them.

Having been involved in delivering elements for The Open through other teams in the past, this opportunity felt like a true step forward for us as a business. It’s always an honour to be part of such a prestigious sporting occasion, and we’re looking forward to continuing this collaboration in the future.

Sail GP: A Global Stage for Sailing Excellence

SailGP has held events in many iconic harbours around the world, including Sydney, San Francisco, Chicago, Plymouth, Saint-Tropez, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Christchurch, Auckland, Halifax, New York, and in Denmark (Copenhagen/Aarhus).

In 2022 it took place in Plymouth and locations rotate but always include major cities known for sailing and high-tech racing on beautiful waters. So, it was very exciting to have the event return to the UK again this year, in Portsmouth.

This project stood out not only for the stunning location but also for the unique challenges we faced. With a tight build space, unpredictable weather (both gale force winds and scorching sun), and the need for precision timing, this event was a masterclass in teamwork.

Our highlight here was installing one of our longest ever truss structures: a 70m-long cover for the adrenaline lounge viewing deck. We worked closely with Sail GP and several other teams onsite, tackling every challenge together to deliver a standout structure for this world class event. We’re really looking forward to its return to the UK again in 2026 and 2027.

Women’s Open: Growing Together

This marked our third year at the Women’s Open, held in Porthcawl, South Wales, and it was a great example of how we build strong, lasting relationships with our clients. What started as a couple of stretch tents in year one has evolved into a much larger operation. This year we delivered a combination of stretch tents and truss structures, catering to everything from hospitality to on site sponsor activation areas.

We’re passionate about working closely with clients to bring their visions to life, and it’s always rewarding to deliver more than expected. Seeing this event grow, and being trusted to take on a larger role year after year, is exactly what motivates us as a team.

Sifted Summit: Creativity in the Spotlight

2025 marked our fourth year working with the Sifted Summit at Magazine London, and every year they challenge us to bring something fresh to the table. We love that about this event; it always pushes the boundaries of what’s possible.

This year, we went all in with a custom truss structure, kitted out with glass and cladding inside and out. Though the size wasn’t enormous (10.5 x 15m), it was a great example of how unique design and execution can transform a relatively small space into something very special. Best of all, this polished structure was built and ready for the event in under 20 hours, a testament to our skilled and dedicated team and ability to work under serious pressure!

2025 Wrap Up

From large scale hospitality at the London Marathon to intricate stretch structures for Wimbledon Qualifiers, this year has highlighted the breadth and versatility of what we offer at WH Silverbacks. Each project has been a chance to showcase our creativity, build strong client relationships, and work with a variety of teams across the events industry.

Now we’ve wrapped up 2025, we’re looking forward to 2026 and all the opportunities it will bring. From complex builds to smaller scale events and everything in between it’s already shaping up to be something special.

To all our clients and collaborators, thank you for trusting us to turn your visions into reality. To our excellent crew, thank you for your hard work and for making sure we consistently achieve the high standards we’ve now set as the standard for temporary event structures.

Here’s to another year of building unforgettable event experiences. We can’t wait.
