It’s not all about stretch tents for White Stores, with a team who have years of experience building large scale temporary structures, WH Silverbacks were drafted in to build a semi-permanent structure. The client had purchased a second-hand temporary structure, which was being repurposed as a display room to demonstrate new products to customers and suppliers.
The technicality of installing a large-scale temporary structure involves the following in advance of build:
- Taking levels of the ground to determine how the structure is to be laid and how areas have to be raised to ensure an overall ‘level’ floor
- Once the levels are taken, calculations and plans are compiled which includes detailed drawings of a 5m grid to establish what heights need to be at each base point
- Completing a pull test to determine which fixings are going to be most suitable to fix the structure to the surface it sits on
- Completing checks on all the fixings, structure cladding, doors, gutters required ensuring everything is available on the build
The team set to and spent 4 days laying the sub structure, flooring and framework but unfortunately the cladding for the structure did not arrive on time and the team returned a few weeks later to complete the structure.
