Wentworth Club was established in 1922 and has been known to some as home of golfing champions since the precursor to the Ryder Cup was played there in 1926. With three 18-hole courses it is now known to host some of the most prestigious golf tournaments, as home of the BMW Championships and home of the flagship on the European Tour.
WH Silverbacks were approached by Wentworth Golf Club to come up with a solution to create some additional outdoor space to use as an extra venue in the summer.
Solution
The area we were working on is known as ‘the green’, a perfect garden area that over looks the golf course.
We started building on the green and due to the uneven and sloped ground we created a platform, which is ground level one side and up to 30cm on the other side.
Once the platform was created we covered it with a 12.5x25m chino Stretch Tent and edged it the entire platform area with glass handrails.
The platform was then covered with Astro turf blending with its surroundings and edged the perimeter of the tent with festoon lighting creating ambience and atmosphere to any evening event. An installation that was used for the duration of the summer.
