The team have been onsite at Centurion Golf Club as a Self Build Crew building various marquees on behalf of the Arena Group.
With over 20 years’ experience in building large structures particularly on tricky sites such as golf courses and needing to build on scaffold bases this is a project we couldn’t say not too, particularly as it involved craning!
Our build schedule ran over a few weeks, one week for 2 marquees, then a couple of weeks for the Manhattans marquees. The main structure we installed were Manhattan structures. They are a type of marquee but when you see them, they look more like a semi-permanent install and look very impressive. We installed 3 different sizes, which were all being used for hospitality space.
15x40m, 10x30m and 10x10m Manhattan structures all for Liv Golf at Centurion Club.
The 15x40m and the 10x30m were for Club 54 and Club Kitchen, the 10x10m was The Range & 54.
As marquees go this is a particularly smart structure, brand new from the manufacturer it went together seamlessly.
The weight and scale of the structure like this and being on a substantial raised scaffold base it required a crane to lift both the floor and the structure arches into place.
As we are appointed persons trained this allowed us to oversee the craning. As an appointed person you don’t’ drive the crane but you manage what the crane does and, in most cases, do the paperwork to go alongside it. This just ensures all situation have been considered and the crane driver fully understands what needs to be achieved.
Having both Wa and Harry trained appointed persons and slinger/ banksmen it does make the team quite appealing for the contracted Self Build Crew jobs we do.
We also built some other marquees in week one, which consisted of 10x45m, which was the Gallery Club and 10x25m Birdie Shack.
We have been asked over the last 18 months to build quite a number of marquees and temporary structures on behalf of other companies due to companies being so busy they need to pass over to a trusted and experience Self Build Crew, that can manage a project in a self-sufficient way, handing it over to the client once complete.
