Unveiling the Power of Truss Structures
When clients approach us with concerns about difficult spaces or limited room for traditional stretch tent setups, we understand the challenges they face. Our team is experienced in finding creative solutions to accommodate these unique situations.
Whether it’s a rooftop terrace, a small courtyard, or a narrow alleyway, we can work with you to design a custom solution that maximizes the use of space while still providing the benefits of a stretch tent.
We understand that not every location is ideal for a traditional stretch tent setup with ropes and pegs. That’s why we offer alternative anchoring options such as weights, ballasts, or even attaching the tent to existing structures.
Our goal is to provide a seamless and visually appealing solution that meets your needs without compromising on safety or functionality. Truss Structures are an ideal temporary structure for your event
By working closely with our clients and understanding their specific requirements, we can tailor our services to fit even the most challenging spaces. Our team of experts will assess the site, consider any limitations, and come up with a plan that ensures a successful installation.
With our attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction, you can trust us to deliver a solution that exceeds your expectations, even in the most difficult of spaces.
A truss structure is always our second go to option.
What is trussing?
Imagine you are at a gig, festival or a theatre and looked up to see all the lights and speakers hanging from a complex metal framework? That is trussing!
Hopefully you now have the visual in your mind of what trussing is. It comes in different lengths and blocks, which then allows you to create a variety of different sizes.
By building a box-shaped frame using trussing. This box then becomes the support structure for a stretch tent canopy. Larger structures might require additional leg support inside the box, but we’ll address that later. This combination of trussing and a stretch tent is what we call a truss structure.
Truss Structures: The Benefits Breakdown
Truss structures offer a whole range of advantages that make them a great choice for many events. Here’s a closer look at what makes them stand out:
- Customisable Size: Truss sections come in various lengths, allowing you to create a structure that perfectly fits your desired footprint.
- Reduced Need for Centre Supports: Depending on the size of your truss structure, you might eliminate the need for centre legs typically required for a regular stretch tent. This frees up valuable space underneath.
- No More Ropes: Unlike traditional stretch tents, truss structures don’t require ropes extending several meters outwards. This eliminates potential tripping hazards and creates a cleaner look.
- Adjustable Height: You have complete control over the height of your truss structure. Need it to be 2, 3 or 4 metres or something in between? No problem!
- Create a Fully Enclosed Space: Truss structures can be decked out with various side panels and even doors. This transforms them from a simple roof into a more enclosed and functional space.
- Branding Opportunity: The truss itself can be cladded with materials that showcase your event’s logo or branding, adding a unique touch.
- Adaptable for Different Ground Conditions: If you’re unable to secure the structure to the ground, it can be weighted down instead, providing the flexibility to use it in various locations.
Truss Structures: A Few Things to Consider
While truss structures offer a ton of benefits, it’s important to be aware of a few potential drawbacks:
- Cost: Compared to a basic stretch tent setup, truss structures can be more expensive due to the materials, equipment and labour needed.
- Less Organic Look: If you’re aiming for a more natural, flowing aesthetic, a stretch tent might be a better choice. Truss structures have a more defined, industrial look due to their rigid form.
- Visible Aluminum: Even though you can cover some of the truss with cladding or fabric, the inherent silver aluminum might not always match the desired visual effect
Truss Structures: Unleashing Your Creative Vision
The beauty of a truss structure lies in its versatility. It’s like a blank canvas in 3D! This sturdy metal framework provides a roof and support legs, allowing you to completely transform it into whatever your event needs.
Here at WH Silverbacks we’ve brought a wide range of visions to life with truss boxes, including:
- Simple Shelters: Need basic cover from the elements? A truss structure can be your solution.
- Elevated VIP Platforms: Create exclusive viewing areas for your VIP guests with a raised platform built from truss structures.
- Functional Seminar Rooms: Transform a truss structure into a fully functional seminar space by adding walls and double glass doors. Integrate a stage and seating for a complete learning environment.
- Themed Environments: The possibilities are endless! Truss structures can be completely cladded to create unique spaces like festive Christmas chalets or eye-catching car display platforms.
