London Marathon

The London Marathon a yearly event held in central London every April, founded in 1981. Where over a million people have completed the course and over a billion pounds has been raised for charity.

WH Silverbacks were asked to create an area on The Mall with a close view of Buckingham Palace by the London Marathon finish line for VIP use. With only a 1.5 days to build and a evening to dismantle a creative solution with quick installation was required.

Solution
We came up with a solution that allowed the client to have an alternative rather than a standard marquee structure.  We installed a 10x25m raised cassette floor with a truss structure on a 3m leg over the top with stretch tent as the canopy. This was closed in using hard sides, glass panels  from floor to ceiling and 2 x glass doors. This was all then linked to the finish line seating area.

Alongside the main area WH Silverbacks built a 9x6m truss box link structure on a 4m leg which also included glass sides for viewing and a 6x6m viewing platform with a disability ramp, which was created using the same design with raised flooring, truss framework and stretch tent roof but this had open sides to view the finish line.
