A Colourful Canvas – Using Tents to Enhance Your Event
Featuring Genesis and Lumi Therapy
This year we had quite a few enquiries about black stretch tents. I think the black colour falls in line with a different companies’ brands and when they are showcasing a product or brand it is more integral to having the right look.
We did a couple of events with black stretch tents this year one was for Genesis the Car Brand. They are a relatively new car make on the scene as they don’t tend to have their own show rooms, but they do have areas in other car showrooms. Over the last year they seem to have increased in popularity.
We were approached by their event agency who wanted some help with creating an area at a particular show they were attending. It was the start of several road shows that were going to take place across the country throughout the summer.
The agency had used us before for something similar last year, so enquired with us again this year to see if we could help.
The show they were attending was the Bolesworth International, a world class equestrian sport, which merges with the very best luxury lifestyle. A great event to target the market Genesis are aiming for.
We were asked only a few weeks before to assist with the project as it was one of the first of the summer they wanted to get it right.
The event ran over a period of about a week and a half, but we drove up to Chester a couple of days before the show was due to open to set up.
We had been asked for a black stretch tent, coir matting and festoon lighting. The team started out with the coir matting to create the footprint area to ensure the space was located correctly. The black stretch tent was then installed. From there the final detail of the festoon was installed for the perimeter creating a nice effect for the event in the evening.
Genesis then started to bring the cars in. The purpose of the stretch tent was to use it as their exhibition stand and showcase their cars. They had also brought their own Genesis branding such as flags, large letters spelling out the brand, bean bags and chairs. The first challenge was to set up the cars in a creative way to enable people to come into the tent and see all different parts of the cars undercover especially if the weather wasn’t so good.
Once it was all set up it looked great and the black stretch tent amongst the Genesis branding worked really well.
Genesis continued to showcase their cars all over the country at different shows as a roadshow.
Another brand that came to us this year was a company called Lumi Therapy. The ice-cold plunge, which is taking the world by storm.
Lumi Therapy were attending a festival called the Medicine Festival near Reading and they wanted something to house their plunge baths.
The black stretch tent worked again with their black and white branding.
We headed up the day before it was due to open to install the stretch tent and had black tent and matching black pole socks to ensure it was fully on brand. Some companies keep the natural poles depending on what they use but when a brand is quite key on their colours using black pole socks to create a full black effect worked well.
Alongside the hires several people this year have enquired about bespoke size black stretch tents that they can purchase and use throughout the summer. Just as Liv Golf did in 2023 they purchased an number of black stretch tents in specific sizes they could then take on tour all over the world.
